John Cole documents through open sources that of the top-10-funded 527 groups, nine are openly pro-Kerry, anti-Bush. Their funding comes to $195,186,845. SBVT's funding as of Aug. 15 was $158,750. (Hat tip: One Hand Clapping)
I just don't think this needs much embellishment. If the outrageous hypocrisy of the double standard applied by the Kerry Campaign (and their big media hot date) to a group of men the majority of whom have service records and combat time exceeding Kerry's own, isn't obvious to a voter then they probably don't have the objectivity or mental acuity to distinguish an enemy of America from an ally. They aren't reachable.
Update: Captain Ed references numerous sources with evidence of links between 527 organizations and the DNC and Kerry Campaign, acknowledged in writing by the DNC. Oops!

The longer this campaign goes on, the less respect I have for Kerry, democrats, and the media. I don't like Bush, but I hope this election makes sure that Kerry leaves the national stage permanently. He's a disgrace.

This is exactly the strategy he used against Bill Weld, complaining vociferously about "negative campaigning" and taking a pledge to avoid it himself, and then when Weld took the pledge out came the negative ads.
But note that George Bush just blithely condemned all the "independent ads" so not only gets the benefit of creating an impression that he's "fair and balanced" while Kerry isn't, but he also gets the not insignificant benefit of having Kerry whine, in effect: "Save me, George! The big bullies are picking on me!"

Kerry is doing a great job of it by hiding his antiwar activities so they can be exposed by the Swifties. America can't help but wonder which Kerry will be Commander in Chief- war hero Kerry or radical protester Kerry.

Pick your position, John. Either embrace the debate or condemn both sides. I just read that of the major news networks, 75 stories were done highlighting the brouhaha around GWB's national guard record, or lack thereof, and only 9 have been done on the Swift Boat story in a comparable time period. I don't think Kerry has anything about which to feel picked on.
